A stunning debut! I'd been in an anti-reading funk for a few months and within a few pages of this book, that turned around and now I can't wait to read more! The characters are relatable and fun, and the story is fast-paced with many throwbacks to other favorites sci-fi novels or dystopian, like Hunger games, Enders game, and even bits of The Selection series. The stakes were so high you have to keep reading, but the deeper themes were also expertly woven in and really hit the Main Character's journey home. I read it in just a few sittings. I'd been a while since a book did that to me and I was so thrilled. All I can say is, when is book 2 coming out?!
